Registering Your iClicker

WHY REGISTER?
Some of your instructors might wish to assign course marks based on your clicker responses. Registering your iClicker unit will make sure that your responses are recorded accurately.

 

HOW TO REGISTER

New Remotes

  1. Students should register their new remote through their Portal course.
    a. Log on to the Portal at https://portal.utoronto.ca.
    b. Under My Courses, click on the course that is using iClicker.
    c. On the course menu on the left-hand side, click on iClicker Student Registration (you may need to confirm the name of the menu item with your instructor).
    d. Locate the Remote ID code. It is printed on the white sticker found on the back of the iClicker, and consists of a series of numbers and sometimes letters.
    e. Enter the code in the Remote ID field.
    f. Click Submit.
  2. Students may also go to http://www.iclicker.com to register their new remote.
    The most important step in this process is making sure that you use your UTORid when registering your iClicker – see instruction 4.b below.   Even if you’ve already registered your iClicker with your student number, you can register again to make sure that your unit is connected with your UTORid.
  3. Click on the orange “Register your iClicker” button on the lower left hand side of the screen.
  4. Enter:
    a. Your first and last name as recorded in ROSI.
    b. For Student ID, enter your UTORid.
    c. For Remote ID, enter the series of eight numbers and letters on the sticker on your iClicker.  The sticker is on the back of the remote, near the bottom.
  5. Enter the verification word.
  6. Click Enter.

Registering Used Remotes

  1. Students who purchase a used iClicker remote should register their remote in their Portal Course by selecting the iclicker Student Registration link to avoid the possibility of a $6.99 re-registration fee.
    a. Log on to the Portal at https://portal.utoronto.ca.
    b. Under My Courses, click on the course that is using iClicker.
    c. On the course menu on the left-hand side, click on iClicker Student Registration (you may need to confirm the name of the menu item with your instructor).
    d. Locate the Remote ID code. It is printed on the white sticker found on the back of the iClicker, and consists of a series of numbers and sometimes letters.
    e. Enter the code in the Remote ID field.
    f. Click Submit.

NOTE: As of December 31, 2014, students who register their used iClicker remote online through the registration web page on the iclicker.com website will be charged a one-time fee of $6.99. A used clicker remote is identified when neither the student name nor the student UTORid have been previously registered with the remote ID. This means that students will be able to register multiple times and only pay the fee once.
** iClicker regularly deletes registration information. You must re-register your iClicker unit AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH SEMESTER.

** iClickers may only be registered to one student in each course. Your responses will not be recorded if another student in your course has registered the same iClicker unit.
