The University of Toronto’s Learning Portal uses the Blackboard learning management system to provide online access to course materials and a variety of tools to enhance teaching and learning activities.

This two-hour hands-on session has been developed for instructors, teaching assistants and course administrators who are new to Blackboard and are looking to get an overview of the system and tools available.

This session will cover the following:

  • Understanding the lifecycle of a U of T Blackboard course
  • Organizing and managing a Blackboard course
  • Managing enrolments, posting files,
  • Using the Discussion Board
  • Sending announcements and emails through Blackboard
  • Exploring additional features such as  Export & Archive and the Grade Center
