Grade Center is an online repository for assessment data for your courses. It is a user friendly and flexible tool which allows the instructor to enter grades directly into their Blackboard course. Grade Center can be used in conjunction with other Blackboard tools to develop an efficient grading and record keeping system. This session is for instructors, teaching assistants and course administrators who input grades into the Grade Center. Topics covered in this session will include:

  • Organizing your Grade Center
  • Entering grades and viewing how they are displayed to students
  • Understanding how to Download and Upload your Grade Center
  • Exploring some of the Grade Center features such as Grade History, creating Grading Periods and grouping students by using Smart Views
  • Following U of T grading policy and best practices in the dissemination of grades

Prerequisite: Attended the Getting Started: Building a Portal Course workshop or have equivalent proficiency using Blackboard (see above); confident use of Internet browsers; the ability to manage and move files and folders on a Windows PC.
