Description: Learning outcomes articulate the key transferable skills and knowledge base that a student will develop in a course. Well-formed learning outcomes can make teaching more efficient by informing assignment design, content selection, and teaching methods. This interactive workshop is intended for faculty, program leaders, and staff interested in an introduction to the development of course and program-level learning outcomes. The session will provide an overview of the terminology and form of learning outcomes, as well as various learning taxonomies which can guide outcome development. Participants will have the opportunity to develop course outcomes during the workshop and receive feedback from the facilitator and colleagues. The goal of the workshop is for participants to leave with the tools needed to create effective learning outcomes.
