Leveraging the Student Perspective to Create Course-Specific Resources.
Monday, January 20, 2025, 11 am-12 pm. Hybrid (Online & In-Person). History Conference Room (SS2098), Sid Smith Hall.
Presenters:
Maija Lehn, Undergraduate Student, Department of Biochemistry
Stavroula Andreopoulos, Professor, Teaching Stream, Department of Biochemistry
Description:
This presentation focuses on the ideation and creation of an innovative course-specific textbook that aims to reframe the student learning experience of foundational concepts in biochemistry. Co-written by a student and professor, this resource moves to address past student challenges through tailored textbook readings and interactive questions. This collaborative effort leverages both the student’s unique perspective as a recent learner and the professor’s pedagogical expertise, to produce a comprehensive and easily accessible resource.
