Teaching in Arts & Science: Supporting Students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)

Instructors teaching in the Faculty of Arts & Science are invited to attend the upcoming workshop, facilitated by the University of Toronto’s Accessibility Services team.
This presentation will focus on supporting students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) under the umbrella of neurodiversity. Attendees will learn about ASD and strategies to support students with ASD. The presenters will provide suggestions for inclusive instructional design for teaching, evaluation, and crafting a syllabus. This presentation will also expand attendees’ conceptualization of participation/engagement in the classroom. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and, if time permits, actively engage in case studies. Resources will be provided at the end of the presentation.
