The purpose of the Developing Course and Tutorial Learning Outcomes is to provide you with guidelines and strategies for developing effective learning outcomes for the courses you will be teaching at the University of Toronto.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • recognize the importance of having course and tutorial learning outcomes;
  • explain the difference between course goals, course learning outcomes, tutorials goals, and tutorial learning outcomes;
  • develop tutorial learning outcomes using appropriate language and following Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy;
  • distinguish effective tutorial learning outcomes form ineffective ones.
