What’s Changing
Quercus (Canvas) ePortfolios will be removed on June 30, 2026. A new Portfolio tool is now available in Quercus.
Important: Your existing ePortfolio will not transfer automatically to the new tool. You must export your content to keep it.
Who Needs to Take Action
Anyone who has created an ePortfolio in Quercus.
Step 1: Download Your ePortfolio
- In Quercus, select Account
- Select ePortfolios (Legacy)
- Open your ePortfolio
- Select “Download the contents of this ePortfolio as a zip file”
Your portfolio will download as a .zip file. After downloading, you may need to unzip (extract) the file to access your content. You will need to rebuild your portfolio manually by uploading files and copying your content into the new tool.
Prefer a visual walkthrough? Watch Canvas’s short video (0:44) showing how to download your ePortfolio.
Step 2: Create a New Portfolio
- In Quercus, go to Account → Portfolio
- Select Create Portfolio and follow the prompts
Most users will create a personal (showcase) portfolio to organize and share their work. In some courses, instructors may provide a structured (evaluation) portfolio.
Step 3: Rebuild Your Portfolio
- Upload your saved files (PDFs, images, etc.)
- Copy and paste your written content
- Add links (e.g., videos, external sites)
- Organize your content into sections as needed
Note: Some formatting (e.g., embedded content) may need to be adjusted. Comments from your original ePortfolio are not included in the download. You can export your new portfolio later (PDF or HTML).
