TA Month: Integrating AI into Active Learning (Online)

This session is designed to introduce new Teaching Assistants to practical ways of using generative AI (GenAI) in their teaching. The session explores how AI tools can be integrated into tutorials and labs to foster students’ critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. It will consider how and when to incorporate GenAI progressively, aligning AI literacy skill-building with both comfort levels and course learning goals. Additionally, TAs will learn strategies for discussing GenAI’s capabilities, limitations, and risks with students, helping them develop a clear understanding of what responsible AI use looks like in practice.
