EdTech and UDL: Designing Flexible, Accessible Learning Experiences (Online)
March 30 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT
This workshop explores how educational technologies can meaningfully support Universal Design for Learning (UDL) while strengthening the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework’s teaching, social, and cognitive presence. Participants will examine practical ways to use digital tools to reduce barriers, offer flexible learning pathways, and promote deeper engagement. Through short activities and scenario based discussions, we will consider when technology enhances inclusive learning—and when it doesn’t. By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
• Connect UDL principles with purposeful technology choices that support learner variability.
• Apply the CoI framework to create tech enhanced activities that foster meaningful interaction and engagement.
• Evaluate real world teaching scenarios to identify effective and inclusive uses of educational technologies.
