Generative AI Sandbox Topic 2: Exploring student course activities
May 15 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm EDT
Facilitators:
Jordan Holmes, Manager, Teaching, Learning & Technology (CTSI)
Will Heikoop, Coordinator Digital Learning Innovation, ITS
Derek Hunt, Faculty Liaison, Teaching, Learning & Technology, CTSI
Join us for a hands-on workshop exploring how instructors can make use of Generative AI tools available within the University of Toronto environment to support teaching and learning. This workshop is intended for those who are intrigued by AI but may feel cautious about trying it out. We will demonstrate and practice with two AI tools available from Microsoft and Contact North. Learn to navigate these platforms while protecting your data, as we generate examples and explore practical student course activity use cases to support teaching needs.
SPECIAL NOTE: During the session we will introduce the MS CoPilot and Contact North tools, which will overlap with some of the content presented in Sandbox 1 (Feb. 12, 2024).
Participants are requested to bring with them a laptop to this session and download the Microsoft Edge browser on the device (if not already installed) in order to participate in full. Cell phones and tablets will not suffice for full participation in this session.
We also suggest you read the CTSI Teaching with Generative AI at U of T, Generative AI Tools page.
