UTSC: Public Speaking for Educators (Online)

Whether you are teaching a lecture-hall full of undergraduates about basic course concepts, or a conference-room full of your peers about the nuances of your research, being an educator requires (and helps you build) your public speaking skills. This interactive workshop will cover some best practices for public speaking, from formatting a memorable talk, to overcoming nerves. Participants will engage in activities aimed at translating their expert knowledge for non-expert audiences, preparing them for classroom teaching, presenting at conferences, or competing in this year’s 3 Minute Thesis!
