Quercus Course Review
The Quercus Course Review (QCR) service provides formative, non-evaluative feedback on how your Quercus course site supports student learning. A CTSI or divisional Educational Developer/Technologist will review your site and offer suggestions to strengthen clarity, accessibility, organization, and alignment with your teaching goals.
QCRs are most helpful for instructors who already have experience with Quercus and are looking to enhance their course design. Course sites do not need to be published but must be in a mostly student-ready state for a meaningful review. Academic units cannot request a QCR as part of a summative teaching evaluation process, and CTSI cannot review Quercus sites for tenure, continuing status, or job application purposes.
How the Process Works
A QCR typically unfolds over three stages:
- Pre‑Review Meeting (25 minutes): Instructor and reviewer(s) meet to determine the focus of the review.
- Review (60 minutes): Reviewer(s) examine the Quercus course site.
- Post‑Review Meeting (50 minutes): Instructor and reviewer(s) discuss observations and identify next steps.
Note: The QCR service is designed to support academic courses listed in ROSI. For feedback on synchronous live teaching, please refer to our Teaching Observation service. For technical support related to Quercus and the Academic Toolbox, contact your divisional educational technology support team or email q.help@utoronto.ca.
Request a Quercus Course Review
Please complete the form below to request a QCR. The information you provide will help us understand your goals and tailor feedback to your teaching context.
We recommend submitting one request per academic year, as insights from a single review are often applicable across multiple courses.
