Dossier Consultation

Dossier Consultation

Teaching dossier consultations provide one-on-one support for appointed faculty members (full-time and part-time) who are preparing for formal review (e.g., interim, tenure, probationary, continuing status, or promotion). These consultations may focus on:

  • Strengthening your teaching philosophy or narrative
  • Revising dossier components to highlight values, practices, and impact
  • Selecting and contextualizing evidence of teaching effectiveness

To help us provide meaningful and timely feedback, please submit your dossier consultation request at least three weeks before your desired meeting date.

If you would like feedback on written materials (e.g., a teaching philosophy, selected components, or a full dossier), please submit your draft two weeks before your consultation. This timeline ensures we can review your materials carefully and coordinate an effective consultation. Early-stage consultations without materials are also welcome.

Dossier consultations are designed to support formal review processes. We are not able to provide consultations for job application processes, including for internal U of T positions. All instructors are welcome to explore our self-guided dossier resources for guidance on preparing a teaching dossier.

If your primary appointment is at UTM or UTSC, you can request dossier support through your local teaching centre:

CTSI continues to support dossier consultation requests from any campus. To request a dossier consultation, please complete the form below.
