Community-Engaged Research Faculty Discussion Club – Sustaining & Growing the Relationship in Community-Engaged Research: Opportunities & Pitfalls
April 24 @ 10:00 am - 12:45 pm EDT
Presented By: Centre for Community Partnerships & Centre for Research and Innovation Support
Join us for the fourth session of the “Community Engaged Research Faculty Discussion Club,” a series for researchers with an interest in deepening their theoretical and practical understanding of community-engaged research to connect with, and learn together from, colleagues from across the tri-campus in order to strengthen both societal and scholarly impact. Faculty, post-doctoral fellows, staff, and graduate students from the University of Toronto are invited to register to participate in person.
The fourth session in this series will focus on how to sustain and grow the research relationship over the course of the community-engaged research initiative, and beyond. Using case studies from their own practice, guest panelists will share their reflections and lessons learned on the opportunities sustain and grow the research relationship over the project lifecycle and into new phases, as well as highlight potential pitfalls to be aware of. Guest panelists will offer their reflections on promoting partner participation over time, balancing different demands on academic and non-academic partners, continuing to foster trust and mutual respect as projects close and, identifying opportunities for future collaborations.
Moderated by Barbara Fallon, Associate Vice-President, Research, Division of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation
