Making Active Learning Opportunities More Equitable for English Language Learners

Active learning opportunities are meant to enable students to learn more effectively. Given the large proportion of students who come from different cultures and educational systems where such opportunities are not the norm, understanding some of the barriers facing English language learners (ELLs) would help raise awareness of inequities. Participants will be presented with a range of active learning opportunities and will examine strategies that could help move ELLs toward more equitable learning experiences.
