U of T Teaching Fellows

Once again U of T celebrated faculty members in the Teaching Stream with an opportunity and resources to engage in a two-year pedagogical project of direct benefit to students in a defined area of institutional priority. With collaboration and support from CTSI, Teaching Fellows focus on supporting pedagogical innovation and scholarship through evidence-based practices and engagement with research on teaching and learning.

President’s Teaching Award

In addition to serving as the administrative support arm for the institution-wide President’s Teaching Award (PTA), CTSI’s Director also participates in the selection committee and co-chairs the U of T Teaching Academy. We congratulate this year’s winners and welcome them to the University of Toronto Teaching Academy.

Teaching Assistants’ Training Program Teaching Excellence Awards

The awards committee (made up of TATP staff and Graduate Educational Developers) review student and faculty nominations for the TA awards and nomination packages from departments for the CI award to select short-lists. These candidates then submit supporting materials for their nomination file and the winners are chosen.

Teaching Assistants Teaching Excellence Award

The Teaching Assistants’ Training Program (TATP) has coordinated the annual TA Teaching Excellence Award since 2003. This award was established to celebrate and acknowledge TAs who demonstrate excellence in teaching across the university. The 2022 award winners are:

Graduate Student Course Instructor Teaching Excellence Award

In 2015, the TATP launched an award for Graduate Student Course Instructors, recognizing the outstanding work of a sole-responsibility graduate student Course Instructor. The Graduate Student Course Instructor Teaching Excellence Award celebrates evidence of educational leadership, meaningful contributions to course and curriculum development, and impact on student learning. This year’s winner is:
