2022-2023 Annual Report
The Programming & Communications team connects and collaborates with CTSI teams, offering both administrative and event planning support, and colleagues across the University on projects and programming throughout the year. Through websites, newsletters and social media, the P&C team shares this vital work with the community and ensures inclusive access to resources and supports. The team expanded this past year to include a Faculty Liaison Coordinator and Faculty Liaison, Anti-Racist Pedagogies, greatly expanding CTSI’s offerings.
2022-2023 Highlights
New Website: After several years of planning, research and user-testing, the new CTSI website (discussed in more detail later in this team report) launched in June 2022. This endeavour required participation from all CTSI teams and was a close collaboration with the ARC web development team.
Faculty Liaisons, Anti-Racist Pedagogies: With the addition of the Faculty Liaison Coordinator, Anti-Racist Pedagogies, the Programming and Communications team was able to focus on several EDIA-focused programming and projects (discussed in more detail later in this report).
Teaching and Learning Symposium: Taking Action: Building Belonging at U of T was held May 3rd (online) and May 4th (in-person). TLS2023 showcased 22 sessions (interactive workshops, roundtables, lightning talks, and SoTL research talks) by more than 50 presenters. The 2-day event was attended by 350 U of T instructors, staff and librarians.
Generative Artificial Intelligence: The Programming & Communications team, working with CTSI Directors and the TLT team, responded quickly to faculty concerns about generative AI tools and assessment with regularly updated resource documents and online information sessions.
Experiential Learning at U of T: This past year, Re:Think articles focused on experiential learning and community-engaged learning at the University. Four articles were posted between October 2022 and April 2023:

“Our office had the privilege of collaborating with members of CTSI in the planning and execution of the 2023 Teaching and Learning Symposium. I appreciated the way Jasjit, Megan and Kelly centered the values of care and respect in curating the symposium.
